Abstract

Distribution systems serve as the critical interface between bulk power generation and end-users, encompassing domestic, industrial, and commercial consumers. As demand continues to grow, effective planning and management of radial distribution networks have become increasingly important to ensure reliable power delivery. Power flow analysis is an essential engineering tool that facilitates the stable operation of power systems. It supports load forecasting, scheduling, system planning, control, and future expansion efforts. Load flow studies are especially crucial in identifying latent issues such as unexpected load spikes, harmonic distortions, voltage deviations, and power losses—problems that are often not visible through routine inspections. This study emphasizes the significance of dynamic load flow optimization within 11kV distribution systems and explores the role of static compensation techniques in enhancing system performance. By employing static compensators, the system’s voltage profile can be improved, power losses minimized, and overall stability maintained. The findings underscore the importance of load flow analysis as a foundation for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of power distribution networks amid increasing and varying load demands
