Abstract

BIM technology is increasingly being used in the management of civil engineering project sites, where it can be used to monitor the entire construction process in real-time, identify problems as they arise, and take additional steps to raise the bar on engineering construction in order to achieve the goal of raising the standard of engineering construction. The article briefly discusses the characteristics of BIM technology, and from six perspectives—collision check, safety management, project cost, quality management, and project progress—discusses the specific application of BIM technology in the project site management. Based on the application of BIM technology needs to improve the analysis of the problem, a number of suggestions are made to increase the effectiveness of the application. It could be able to offer some assistance to those who work in the same field.
